Mokondzi, the origin of a Congolese history.

What does Mokondzi mean?

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

Mokondzi is a Congolese term which derives its first origin from the word "Okondzi" which in Mbochi language formerly referred in the northern zone of the current Congo, precisely the Cuvette, of the man of resources both intellectual and material who roamed the villages to sell foodstuffs sought after by the villagers.

This individual knew the forest, the plants, the animals, the villages and the needs of the men.

He knew how to find what others could not find. He knew what the others didn't know. He was also skilled with his hands. A true living encyclopedia.

The term crossed the Congo to descend further south and thanks to the Kongo people this term kept the same meaning but its spelling was transformed into "Mokondzi".

Today the term "mokondzi" has seen its definition evolved to refer to the different forms of military, civil and traditional authority in the Congo. The history of the Congo has always highlighted the very strong link that the Congolese attach to the culture of the Chief, to the notion of chieftaincy and today it is reflected in the power and authority embodied by the State and its institutions.

Beyond this social definition of the term "mokondzi", we have chosen here to reappropriate this identity and seek to redefine it.

We wish to speak here of an ideal to be achieved for each individual. It is about an attitude, a responsible state of mind ready to face its reality.

Altruistic at heart, Mokondzi is a resourceful and visionary person. This is someone who embodies a form of balance around him and who inspires both his actions and his thoughts.

The identity of Mokondzi (e) is avant-garde and is based on the approach of 1% which is opposed to that of 99%. Do what 1% of the population do rather than follow the 99% of the population.

Mokondzi is inspired by the Congo, a country of forests and naturally close to nature. More precisely, we wanted to adopt an animal frame of reference that could best represent the values and character traits that are those of a modern-day Mokondzi (e).

The Congo Basin has thousands of animal species, but our attention naturally fell on the gorilla.

It alone symbolizes our attachment to the Congo Basin and therefore to Africa.

The gorilla is Africa's largest ape.

Starting from this choice, we thought that the gorilla was not as close to us and to the activities that we wanted to carry out in the long term.

At least that's what we believed and in the end we realized that the gorilla had similarities with the Congolese entrepreneur of today.

We don't think the gorilla is an entrepreneur per se, but all animals have ingenuity to survive and the gorilla is no exception.

We have listed, below, some common points between the gorilla and the entrepreneur to expand our point.

In the equatorial forest there are thousands of species common to other regions of the world. The leopard, the panther, the elephant, the fennec, the snakes, the bat, the eagles, the tortoises, etc ...

We believe that the gorilla remains the closest animal to man in terms of its lifestyle, its presence, its strength and its intelligence. His leadership is indisputable.

This is why Mokondzi associates the gorilla with his vision.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

1-The leader is the silver back: the leader of the troop.

As in many species that live in groups, there is always a hierarchy that is either patriarchal, dominated by males or matriarchal, dominated by females.

In the gorilla, the male is the dominant individual and he is visually distinguished from the females by sporting a gray coat on the back which has given him the nickname of silverback. Gorillas live in herds.

Apart from this difference in hair color, the dominant male is responsible for the security of his troop against all threats. The man and the leopard are direct threats from the gorilla.

The silverback guides his troop over vast mountainous and forested territory in search of food, resting places and water points.

The silverback must also settle conflicts between members of his troop. It preserves harmony between its members and diffuses emerging tensions.

The rest of the group is often made up of juveniles and females. The dominant male also owes his survival to the rest of the troop because without females there is no reproduction to generate his offspring. The gorilla cannot live alone. The other members are also his eyes and ears to warn in case of imminent threats.

The entrepreneur should rightly exert his influence in his company in the same way. He / she must be ready to defend his company and all that composes it, including its human and material wealth. The entrepreneur must be the leader of his company. He / she sets the tempo and the direction in which he / she wishes to go. The entrepreneur exercises his leadership to advance his business, develop his products and services, and maintain his vision.

The entrepreneur cannot embark on the formidable adventure of building a business alone. He / She is accompanied by people whom we qualify as human resources and not resources.

Each member stands out to bring what he / she knows how to do best to advance the company, consolidate the visibility of products and services, embrace the customer experience to be transmitted. The entrepreneur organizes his human resources so that each of them gives the best of themselves.

It de facto accepts that it must be responsible to its stakeholders. The entrepreneur is constantly in reflection to develop and consolidate his achievements.

2-A Threatened Species.

The gorilla is a species threatened mainly by the actions of humans in its environment.

According to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), there are about 250,000 individuals for the Western Gorilla, including less than 300 individuals for the Cross River subspecies.

For the Eastern Gorilla: less than 5000 individuals of which a thousand are mountain gorillas.

In the first place, the wars in the DRC, the intense deforestation for logging, mining and oil exploitation are the reasons for a low gorilla population. There is also the gorilla hunting for its meat and bones. The ebola epidemic that raged in eastern DRC has also infected several individuals.

No study has yet shed light on the transmission of covid19 to great apes. However, Julie Kern, scientific editor of futura-sciences.com, reminds us that the transmission of viral infection from animals to humans does exist. They are called zonooses and the reverse is also true such as the H1N1 flu, the mad cow crisis or even rabies. In 2020, cases of covid19 contamination on wison farms in Denmark showed that Covid19 could be transmitted from humans to animals.

In Congo the entrepreneur is also threatened. Since 2014, Congo has been experiencing financial strains on its budget due to poor governance of public finances and the Congo's poor economic diversification. The fall in the price of brent oil from $ 110 to $ 15 exacerbated its cash strains which coupled with the country's debt distress between 2010 and 2015. Brent crude was April 2020 at around $ 27.77.

The Congo therefore approached the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and signed an agreement on July 11, 2019 in which 48 recommendations applicable by the Congolese government to stabilize its public finances are included. One of the recommendations relates to the effective collection of taxes and levies from businesses and individuals.

Often carried out in an unconventional manner, some entrepreneurs have been improperly controlled by the State services on several occasions by various State services: Taxes, customs, State inspectorate and national fund. social security (CNSS).

Since 2014, no measures to preserve the private sector and the jobs destroyed during the fall of the barrel have not been applied, leaving the Congolese entrepreneurs on their own.

Since the signing of the extended credit facility agreement between the Republic of Congo and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2019, the IMF has announced the cancellation of this agreement. In question the non-application of the 48 recommendations mentioned in this article.

In addition, the Congo is, according to the latest Doing Business ranking of the World Bank , ranking which reflects the ease of doing business in a country, at the 180th position out of 187 countries.

The Doing Business ranking includes several indicators such as opening a business, paying taxes, obtaining a building permit, obtaining a bank loan or the ease of doing cross-border trade. . [DB score Congo] .

The weakness of Congo in this ranking reflects the difficulty of doing business in Congo making entrepreneurship difficult. Tensions on Congo's budget have put a stop to investments and projects led by the State.

Several local companies, participating in these public projects, found themselves facing the Congo's default. For lack of reliable statistics, the Congo does not have exact figures on the number of Congolese entrepreneurs in activity. There are many businesses and businesses run by foreigners.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

3-The gorilla: The King of the forest.

Particular attention is paid to the preservation of the gorilla and its habitat outside the Congo.

Several non-governmental organizations have been involved for several years in studying and creating preservation programs in partnership with the governments of the Congo Basin countries.

Among the initiatives we count:

Diane Fossey's International Gorilla Fund. Karisoke Research Center

Dr Diane Fossey established in 1967 a study and research center in Rwanda in the Virunga mountains to study and protect mountain gorillas.

After his disappearance his actions continue.

The Ellen Fund . Ellen Degeneres, American presenter and influential figure in the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer and more (LGBTQ +) community, is known around the world for her talk show.

In 2018, his wife Portia de Rossi offered him the creation of a fund, which bears his name, to participate in the preservation of gorillas in Rwanda.

A great admirer of Dr. Fossey, Ellen is committed to the Diane Fossey fund to open a campus The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to host the programs of the Karisoke Research Center.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is committed to the protection and preservation of the planet. WWF identifies species at risk and focuses its efforts on so-called priority species, among which we find:

Gorillas of the west and east

The wolf

the giant panda

The brown bear

Elephant

The rhinoceros and many other species.

WWF has existed since 1973 and is considered the undisputed voice in the protection of the planet and its animal species. WWF has entered into numerous partnerships with governments, private companies and other associations to carry out its fight.

WWF mobilizes an average of € 25,000,000 per year for its actions.

IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature , helps find practical solutions to the most pressing environmental and development challenges.

Valuing and conserving nature, ensuring effective and equitable governance of its use, and developing nature-based solutions to meet global challenges of climate, food and development, these are the areas in which the organizations operate. IUCN activities. The Union supports scientific research, manages projects around the world and brings together governments, NGOs, the UN and businesses to generate policies, laws and good practice.

IUCN in collaboration with the Species Survival Commission.

There are also several initiatives for entrepreneurs in Congo and / or accessible to Congolese entrepreneurs in Africa.

Several start-ups have benefited from support since the program was launched.

The beneficiaries are present in several sectors namely agriculture, technology, transport, economy and finance.

Among the beneficiaries we found a Congolese.

Vital Sounouvou with the "Exportunity" project. A project which aims to develop export opportunities for African products. However, it appears that Vital Sounouvou is based in Benin rather than Congo from the description of Opportunity.

It should be noted that every many Congolese apply.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

For information, we distinguish two categories in gorillas: West and East.
